Author: After last nights breakfast at Denny’s that was an hour wait and not shut eye till 2:00 am, we did get up early to start to pack and try a post, only to discover that it went down in the hotel a few minutes after we logged on.
Dean to the rescue. We emailed him some photos and presto – he whipped up a post and figured out where we were.
we went to Danalitoday and took a six hour tour, which is the shortest tour you can take. 3 hours in to mile marker 52, then 3 hours out. It started at 5:30 pm and we got our of the park at 12:00 am. Not exactly our cup of tea, but it is the only way to get into the park beside camping.
This place is special and we will only post a few pics – we did not get to see Mt. Mckinley – the clouds and not too many people get to see it.It is a vast, large park with some spectacular scenery and wildlife.
Tomorrow it is off to Anchorage and hopefully stay there a couple of days. I’ll try and get caught up on ome post…

Well, you made a liar out of me. Here I am at work and VOILA – here I am experience Denali! The pictures are post-card perfect! Even compressed, I can zoom in for these old eyes to see some detail without having them go pixelated. FABULOUS!!! Steve looks good in the antlers – those'll keep the mosquitoes away!
Enjoy Anchorage..maybe you can take a swim in the channel/bay…make up for chickening out in the Arctic 🙂

Seeing the pictures and seeing your route via SPOT is fantastic! I'll have Bob check out that owl. Boreal? Hard to tell how big it is. And those bull moose antlers! And the bear. And the scenery! Have a great ride down to Anchorage.

You got that right! I was in Seattle for a whole week and never saw Mt. Ranier…ah, those clouds!
well we had one more shot at it today but no sighting it rain all day today so what ever is between denali and anchorage was not visible at all (I took 4 picture today waaaaaaa).
i am anxious to see some pictures of the road conditions on the northward path
