Author: 7:45 pm – Steve found the problem. He had bottomed out on a big bump and the rear tire rubbed/wore a hole through the top of the rear fender. This exposed the tire to a wire on his Power Commander module. The wire was ripped out of the Power Commander. The bike started running on one cylinder and all kinds of warning lights were lit.
Big Steve fixed the problem and rode back to the Yukon River Camp to find JimmyV. A couple miles outside the camp, he met JimmyV riding out with a guy in a pickup.
Both riders are back on track and heading north 119 miles to Coldfoot. Their next stop is the Arctic Circle, 60 miles from Yukon River.

Dean just want to say thank you again. I will email all the family here to let them know we chatted and all is well. I'm glad they picked you as one to keep us updated on the progress. They do have a gardian angles watching them and can't wait to hear the stories when they get back. Safe travels boys.
Whew! Thank God it was an easily repairable fix and they're on their way rather quickly. Dean, you're a Godsend keeping us up-to-date. Thanks for all the news, good and not so good. AND all the info on what lies ahead for them. Onward…
Well, it's past 2 am here on the east coast and it looks like the boys are almost at Coldfoot. So glad that Big Steve was able to repair his bike and carry on. Wouldn't want you to miss Deadhorse, Steve. And wouldn't want Jim to have to go it alone. Your army of angles are watching over you both (and watching your every move on SPOT). We don't need anymore more drama now, on with the trip and i cannot wait to see the pics! Have never met you Dean but sure am glad you are able to perform this magic to keep us up dated
