surprising how our list of necessity changes, and the things we miss when they are not readily available. You have really moved quickly, i want to tell you to make sure you take time to relax and get some sleep, but i know i would sound too much like a mother and you probably wouldn't do it anyway. So i will just say enjoy, enjoy and thanks again for making the trip open to us! We are still busy with wedding plans here, and dealing with summer school kids that aren't so happy to be where they are. Take care! Be careful! and get some sleep!!!!

Ditto on the relaxing and sleeping! And you're used to me sounding like a mom, so I don't have any qualms about saying -get some rest, stop & smell the pine trees & ENJOY!! Which I know you have been….

last night was bad we had a smoking room and we were up most the night trying to find the fire (it was bad). No really if your used to sleeping after the sun sets its hard to slep when at 12:00 at night it looks like 6:00 at home what a trip.

Well, I hope you're not REALLY complaining that you have no internet…I know it's not what you want to be doing at the bar and would like to update your site from the comfort of your room, but look about you. I'd trade no access for the wonders and beauty all around. We had no internet for 3 weeks on our recent trip – Dennis suffered more than me. He got 1 hour in Heathrow on our way to Ireland and that had do be his fix for the entire time.

So, no pictures to comment on, not many comments from you, even, but your route looks great – thanks SPOT!. The satellite images give a good idea of the countryside, but it's all in the details. Fabulous mountains and streams everywhere, looks like. I'll hold tight for YOUR pictures – I did look at some on Google Earth…check out the Transportation Museum 🙂 !!

Sorry about not commenting all the time – I gave that job to Big Steve as I write the posts and sort through the pics – so I'll catch up…

so while your riding along you might want to keep your mind active with a few math story problems….. (i was going to call them word problems, but i know we are all old enough to remember them as story problems). If 12 students showed up at summer school this morning, and only 9 left…………. how many did i kill? Not so bad huh? So how many did i seriously injure? Can't wait to see your posting for tonight, Your alaska or bust fan!

    • big steve says:

the real problem here is 1. how many will you have at the end of next week. 2. how many at the end of the summer.
haveing fun up north wish the pictures could do justice to what this really looks like.

    once again…."Coffee" yuuuuummmmmmm!

  • Kelly says:

LOL, ditto on JT's comment….loving all the extra coffee AND they ladies don't even make me drink day old coffee if there is some left at the end of the day, the luxuries without the coffee nazi! You missed our very exciting CFD meeting today where Bill graced with his presence, it was a REALLY irritating meeting…I need some wine now.

    • jimmyv says:

Rub it in why don't you…. I'm tired of the nasty coffeein the hotel rooms, and I'm jones at 7:30 am looking for some Startbuck Doubleshots in the places we stop…

When do the dirt tires get mounted?

The Irshmen in the family wants to know why you aren't moving yet. He is trying to keep g-ma up to date and you aren't moving. He wants to know if you are broken down or sick. Do you want help or just a prayer. Mark O'Shaughnessy.

    • big steve says:

Ok we've told buy all the moms out there to get some sleep hard as it is when the sun never set thats what we did and it was nice. we are waiting for the mail man to show up hopefully with our tires so we can get them mounted and go up the dalton hwy. to cold foot or wiseman tonight the deadhorse tomorow. so in the mean time we rest and post.

  • janniev says:

Me, too!! It's almost noon here and I haven't had my Alaska fix! I'm usually on my 2nd fix by now – post at home, then you're moving by the time I get to work. I know you've entered a new time zone, so you're even further behind. Perhaps you're taking the 'get some sleep' suggestion. I'd send you some coffee if I could….

Mark O was asking about the Dalton Highway just yesterday and wondering if you would be on it. He watches the ice truckers so he warns to beware of the trucks on that hightway. It's maybe good that snail mail slowed you down today so you can catch your breath before the next frontier. This has been a lot of fun and very interesting watching you both as you track north. The pictures have been great and we just wait each day to see them. Take care….I have to go to work 🙁 but will check tonight for the progress report. Have fun.

More incredible pictures. We are all going to miss this when you get you're out of internet access range. At least we'll have SPOT and can watch your progress. north. Make sure you rest up for the next portion of the journey.
